My name is Erik W. Davis. I use the “W.” because otherwise this other Erik Davis and I start getting each other’s mail. Among other things, I am a graduate student at the Divinity School of the University of Chicago. I am in the process of writing my dissertation for that institution, while I also work full-time at Macalester College in Saint Paul, where I hold the post of Assistant Professor in the department of Religious Studies.

Although my labor is paid for in my capacity as faculty in the Department of Religious Studies at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA, no reader has any warrant to assume that the views and opinions I express here represent any person, unit or office at Macalester College. Nobody at the university has contacted me to endorse or applaud this blog, nor have they asked that I do so for them.
